This year's summer in Cowtown was mild to say the least. Most days were cloudy, it rained frequently, and only a handfull of days were above +25C (77F). I barely managed to get a decent tan too. That aside, the flowers in the garden are still quite nice and blooming happily, and with the light nearing the horizon I quickly stepped out to take a few photos. More and more I'm starting to use my little E-P2. I still wish the focusing was a tad faster, but it's nothing to discourage me in the end. The image quality out of the little cam continues to impress me, especially at higher sensitivities.
There was a light breeze about and in order to ensure blur-free shots, as the flowers were dancing with air, I set the ISO to 400 which helped increase the shutter speed. I was also quite close to my subjects, thus I stopped down to get a larger depth of field (in order for the pics below: f/10, f/7.1, and f/11). I don't know much about plants so I'm uncertain in regard to what type they are; if memory serves me well the yellow and white bunch are chamomile; no clue what the 5ft tall purple ones are called. Nonetheless, my favorite shot from this set is the first one below. It's almost as if the flowers are sad to see the sun go down with their petals folded back. Oh, and the lighting on the pine tree may stand out to some; the left-hand side is sunlit whilst the right-hand side is getting reflected light from the side wall and windows of the house. Almost looks like I used a huge reflector to add some fill light.
