Well I thought it was time that I quickly wrote something new for my blog. Recently I've been really tied up with a few personal things, nothing bad, just very time consuming, and I keep putting aside my hobbies. This also includes the supplemental post to the macro photography episode, although I've been able to put in a few minutes here and there, thus it is progressing. I'll get there!
Below you'll see a few shots I took of my little wooden fighter jet I've been working on for about 20-21 total hours now. I'm quite happy with the way the tail turned out, especially that amazing wood grain, and the piece is now fully sanded with 400 grit sandpaper. In addition, the jet intakes have been carved out, along with the jet exhausts. The next steps at this point are to polish the piece, then add the details by burning the wood with my trusty iron, and finally sealing the jet with a few coats of varnish. I've also been thinking about what to do as my next project. I'm a fan of Formula 1 racing, so I thought that an F1 racer would be cool, but at the same time I'd love the challenge of creating a human figure. Hmm...
